Apostle Islands was designated as a national lakeshore in 1970.

Located on the shores of Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin. This park unit is made up of 21 islands and 12 miles of the Wisconsin shoreline. The sandstone cliff formations have eroded creating sea caves and specatular colors in the cliffs along the water.

Visitors can enjoy hiking, boating, sightseeing, birding and camping at this amazing park.
