Pictured Rocks is the first unit designated as a national lakeshore in 1966.

Located on the shores of Lake Superior on the upper penisula of Michigan. This park unit has towering multicolored sandstone cliffs, waterfalls, huge sand dunes that disappear into the lake. Sparkling waters splash along the miles of beaches.

Visitors can enjoy hiking, canoeing, kayaking, sightseeing, birding and camping at this amazing park.
